CCEnergy invited to exhibit, speak at World EXPO in Japan

For immediate release
May 2, 2005

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - People around the world are learning about Cooperative Community Energy, a California solar sales and service cooperative corporation, at EXPO 2005, the World Exposition in Aichi, Japan. Beginning on opening day, March 25, 2005 and through the EXPO's conclusion on September 25, CCEnergy is exhibiting information about solar photovoltaics' contribution to addressing global energy and environmental issues as well as CCEnergy's unique approach for promoting solar energy through the cooperative business model.

CCEnergy was the only U.S. company invited to participate in the EXPO by PV-NET, a PV owner's network in Japan established in 2003 as a member-supported NGO (Non-Governmental Organization). Currently PV-NET has more than 1,000 members. Mr. Ken Tsuzuku, chairman of PV-NET, became interested in CCEnergy's business approach and came to visit CCEnergy in September 2004, bringing with him and representatives from REPP (Renewable Energy Promoting People), an EXPO forum. Mr. Tsuzuki extended the invitation for CCEnergy to join PV-NET in exhibiting at the World EXPO.

PV-NET promotes solar electricity generation through member information, opinion exchange, and corroboration of solar energy and system installations. The organization also makes recommendations for transitioning to an environmentally sound society. PV-NET is working to establish a green tag program in the Japanese market.

Dan Pellegrini, CCEnergy Founder and President, and Aki Yoshia, CCEnergy Field Representative, are participating in this global, intercultural exchange in person during the week of May 2-6, 2005. Pellegrini will give several talks and participate in symposiums the week of May 1-7, 2005 in the "Energy Square of Light & Water" Pavilion. CCEnergy's exhibit is featured in the EXPO Hall of the NGO Global Village.

Exposition organizers say the event's theme is inspired by "the marvelous mechanism of nature and the power of life." ...

Learning from the world's vast collection of wisdom and methods of interaction with nature found around the globe, we hope to bring the world together for the creation of a global society allowing the multitude of cultures and civilizations to coexist together.

EXPO 2005 will be a focal point, acting as the loom for a wonderful creation. The theme of the EXPO -- Nature's Wisdom -- will be the vertical thread in this loom, and the rich and varied exchange -- a Grand Intercultural Symphony -- the horizontal threads. When woven together, they will produce a soft, rich and beautiful fabric. Perhaps the fabric for a wonderful new global society.

The participants of EXPO 2005, the nations, regions, private enterprises, independent citizens, NPOs/NGOs, and volunteers that form the backbone of global society, will be the weavers on this loom, sure to produce a wondrous fabric for the world.

More than 120 countries from five continents are showcasing ideas, technology, and programs about eco-compatible living through exhibits, lectures, discussions, demonstrations, media, and performances. EXPO 2005 is also promoting dialogue among world intellectuals through various seminars and symposia addressing environmental, energy, population, urban development, and other areas of global concern.
