Past public meetings (archives)The Power of the Sun (Documentary Film) Produced and directed by Nobel laureates Walter Kohn and Alan Heege and narrated by actor John Cleese, "The Power of the Sun" commemorates the centennial of Albert Einstein’s discovery of the photon, the film
outlines the history of solar energy. This new documentary also describes solar power's bright future. The screening is presented by Solar Sebastopol, a first-of-its-kind community solar program to encourage more solar energy on residential, business, and public properties in Sebastopol and beyond.
Solar Sebastopol will be sponsoring Steven Strong, internationally renowned solar architect and designer and president of Solar Design Associates, presenting a highly visual world overview of Solar Electric Architecture using the best-built examples of solar-powered residences and commercial-scale buildings from Europe, Japan, and the US. These early PV-powered buildings provide a window into the coming new era of environmentally responsive, energy-producing buildings where this elegant, life-affirming technology will become commonplace as an integral part of the built environment. Shareholder elections will be held for two open Board of Directors seats. This meeting is open to both members and non-members, but only members may participate in co-op voting. CCEnergy Board of Directors Meeting The first hour, 5-6 p.m., is an open forum for all CCEnergy members. The Quarterly Business Meeting begins at 6 p.m. Members' oral comments during the open forum may be limited to five minutes if attendance is high. Written comments may be sent to the Corporate Secretary before the meeting. To ensure that the Board has a chance to fully consider your comments before making policy decisions as part of the regular business meeting, please submit those comments in writing no later than December 30th. Bring your questions, concerns, and utility bills to an informative talk on renewable energy and its role in creating a sustainable future.
